About Audrey
Audrey Bergeson specializes in mediation and Guardian ad Litem work. As a Guardian ad Litem, Audrey represents the best interests of children in disputed custody cases in Georgia’s Superior Courts. She is an experienced Guardian ad Litem with a career focused on serving Atlanta’s families and children.
Prior to returning to private practice to work full time as a Guardian ad Litem, Audrey was the Managing Attorney for the Family Law Program at Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF), where she managed the program’s pro bono litigation and guardian ad litem programs. Her work included training new guardians ad litem and supporting both new and experienced volunteer guardians ad litem in their pro bono cases.
Prior to joining AVLF, Audrey practiced family law as an associate with Smith & Lake, LLC. Her practice included serving as a guardian ad litem. Before practicing with Smith & Lake, Audrey was the 2013-2015 Hunton & Williams (now Hunton, Andrews, Kurth) Pro Bono Fellow, where her work included serving as a guardian ad litem in juvenile court.
Audrey serves on the State Bar of Georgia’s Committee on Children and the Courts, the Atlanta Bar’s Law Student Outreach Committee and Public Interest Law Section Board, and is a member of the State Bar of Georgia's Young Lawyers Division Family Law Committee.
In 2022, she received the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the State Bar of Georgia's Outstanding Service to the Public award. In 2021 and 2018, she received the YLD Outstanding Service to the Profession Award, and in 2017 she received the YLD Outstanding Service to the Community Award.
Audrey is an honors graduate of Emory University School of Law, where she received the Custer Tuggle Award of Excellence in Family Law. She received her B.A. with honors from the University of Southern California, Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
